MSI April Newsletter:

April, being our first official month in business, has been filled with behind the scenes logistical activities and we haven't had as much of an opportunity to communicate with you as we would like. We have been busy procuring all of our training gear and weapons, as well as trying to help develop this website. We, at Move Shoot, Inc. (MSI), have been very excited about getting this thing rolling, as I'm sure most of you are.

At MSI, we believe to train the best, you have to use the best. With this in mind, we wanted to give you an overview of some of the experiences you will discover upon attending an MSI class. As far as training methodology goes, we have found that no other method works as well as putting our principles to the test in a Force on Force scenario based training environment. This is as close as we can get, in a training atmosphere, to the proverbial “where the rubber meets the road”. To this end, we have procured what we believe will be equipment closely resembling weapons you might normally use in your duty assignment. This only adds to the realism of some of the most reality based scenarios you will ever experience. Just to give you some idea of the equipment you will be using, our choices are:

Glock Simunition guns - These guns have revolutionized Force on Force training as we know it today. They are as realistic in weight and function as your duty weapon. The only way to tell the difference is that these training weapons have a blue frame and the bore of the barrel is drilled slightly off center.

Simunition protective gear - At MSI, SAFETY is paramount! That is the reason we have gone the extra mile in providing our students with the very best in safety equipment. These “helmets” are specifically designed for use in the types of training environments we operate in. They provide full head, face, and throat protection. We have found them to be far superior to traditional protective equipment commonly used in other law enforcement training arenas or the civilian paintball community. We have yet to have them fog or fail in our test sessions.

Real Action Paintball Guns - If you think the “Sim” guns are cool, you'll love these things. At a casual glance, you would not notice the difference between a real Glock pistol and these facsimiles. These training weapons are almost identical in fit, form, function, and finish to the Glock pistol. They fire a .43 caliber marking paint projectile.

Tippman A5 Paintball guns - These training weapons have been modified by our armorer to closely resemble an M4 platform. They are equipped with some details that add to the realism (i.e. Collapsible stock, Carry handle, etc.).

We have also been procuring equipment to closely reproduce low light environments should our hosting agencies have trouble locating a facility that is appropriate. These “artificial habitats” can be configured however we wish to facilitate the training objectives set forth in the course curriculum.

As mentioned previously, we are not the only ones excited about this venture. We have been receiving phone calls, email, etc. from agencies who seem equally excited. We are currently negotiating a class to be held in the South-Metro Atlanta area at either the end of April or the beginning of May. Stay tuned to the website for details as they become available.

We hope you will take the time, as you navigate the website, to visit and register on our forum. This forum will hopefully become a repository for free form discussion on various topics that other people in the industry will look to for information. Our membership has been steadily growing since the forum's inception. However, the forum is only as good as YOU make it. MSI encourages you to use the site to exchange information and discuss topics of interest. You'll notice the “COPS ONLY” section of the forum is only accessible after your credentials have been verified by the site administrator. If you don't have access, notify Marvin Walden by email at mwalden@moveshoot.com . This is a great place to post officer safety alerts and other items we don't want disseminated to the general public. If you'll visit it, you'll notice we have posted some videos and other items you might find pertinent to your chosen career.

We are confident that once you have experienced the blocks of instruction we present, you will appreciate the operational tempo and job valid techniques taught in our classes. These techniques and principles have been developed and have evolved from the unique training and operational experiences brought to the table by our staff instructors. From our state of the art training weapons and equipment to the training curriculums you will be pleased with your experiences with MSI.
